Fall Wedding Favorites
Is anyone else having a hard time believing October is halfway over?
The months are flying by much too quickly, and our team is trying to soak up as many seasonal weddings as possible. Fall is such a fun and busy time of year for weddings, which makes it one of our favorite seasons! There’s no better way to celebrate the changing leaves than with a wedding that feels festive and cozy.
In honor of the weather cooling down, we wanted to chat about some of our favorite things about fall weddings.
The Weather
After a long, hot summer, the chill breeze of fall is so welcome! Early October especially is great because the weather hasn’t turned freezing yet, but the heat of summer has faded away. It’s the time of year when being outside feels refreshing and revitalizing, which is why it’s ideal for weddings!
The cooler fall weather has some fun impacts on your wedding attire too! Your guests can layer up in sweaters or you can gift them blankets or pashminas as favors, brides can play with long-sleeved dresses or added scarves, gloves, or furs, and grooms don’t have to sweat to death in their suits. Everything about autumn weather means cozy comfort, so lean into that when you’re planning your fall wedding!
Fall Colors and Backdrops
There is definitely beauty to be had during every season of the year, and we believe every season has something special to offer. But there really is no magic like the backdrop of fall leaves for photos- especially here in Utah.
Depending on where you live, fall can be perfect for outdoor weddings. Between the temperate weather and the colorful leaves, the beauty of autumn is a stunning natural backdrop for your ceremony or reception. It’s one of those times of year when ‘less is more’ and your decorations can really lean into the scenery.
Festive Themes
Autumn is such a festive time of year, and fall weddings are the perfect time to embrace that. We love a celebration that is influenced by the season! Everything about your wedding can reflect a fall theme, from the food to your colors, flowers, activities, attire, and more.
Now, when we talk about festive weddings, don’t let thoughts of cheap, cliche decorations steer you away. You can absolutely have a celebration that feels like a beautiful, classy tribute to the season without looking like you got all of your inspo from the seasonal section of a craft store. When you think about your personal favorite things about fall, the warm, cozy vibes are probably high on your list. Your wedding can encapsulate all those cozy fall feelings!
It’s easy to make your venue feel warm and inviting when it’s a little bit chilly outside, through things like candles and lamps, a hearty menu, and incorporating lots of texture throughout your decorations. Creating a cozy atmosphere at your wedding is what will make your celebration stick out in your mind in the years to come because of how it feels.
