11 things to consider for your wedding exit
Ending Your Wedding Celebration in a Big Way
The beauty of wedding exits is that they can be as simple or elaborate as you like! Sometimes it’s helpful to have a reminder that your wedding day is completely up to you, including the send-off. Consider this a little pep talk from us to you: there really are no rules when it comes to your big day!
As with every part of your wedding experience, you should look for exit ideas that feel true to your personality, interests, and relationship. If there’s something you’ve always dreamt of doing, like driving off in a fancy sports car, now’s the time to make it happen. Maybe you want to incorporate a shared pet in your sendoff! Whatever you decide, this is a great time to make it fun and unique to you.
On the other hand, it’s also totally okay to ditch the idea of a wedding exit altogether. Leaving the venue with a big celebration and lots of fanfare might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s great. We’ve worked with couples who would rather have a giant dance party instead of a formal send-off, which we also love.
If a wedding exit is included in your plans but you’re not sure how you want to go about it, you’ve come to the right post. We’re sharing 11 fun wedding exit ideas for every kind of couple. Let’s dive right in!
Wedding exit ideas you’ll love
1. Install a personalized licensed plate on your car. This one is fun because you can keep it forever!
2. Give your guests a sparkler to hold. It’s a modern classic and makes for great photos.
3. Drive away on the back of a motorcycle.
4. Make a getaway in a decorated car (bonus points for personal decor!). But don’t use soda cans tied to the back of your car — this is actually really dangerous, and we don’t encourage it!
5. Hand out flower petals for guests to toss. It’s cute and a little bit more environmentally friendly than confetti, glitter, or rice. A win all around!
6. Have your guests blow bubbles as you make your exit. Another really great photo opportunity!
7. Give guests a few glow sticks each. This one is the most fun if you’re leaving at the end of a dance party.
8. Ask everyone to wave ribbon wands using your wedding colors.
9. Toss balloons across the aisle as you walk towards your car. Pause to throw some balloons along the way!
10. Go out with a bang and light fireworks in the background.
11. If your venue is on the water, leave by boat!
While this list has some of our favorite ideas, it’s by no means a comprehensive list of all the wedding exit ideas out there.
Now that you have some fun ideas floating around in your head, be sure to double-check the restrictions your venue has set before you get too deep into the wedding exit planning. Not all venues will accept the same things, and some don’t allow items like open flames. It’s always a good idea to cover your bases and get the go-ahead from your venue before your big day.
There are endless options available to you, it’s just a matter of finding something that you and your fiance both love and works for your budget and your location. We hope these ideas help you find the exit of your dreams!
