The Best Way to Transform Your Wedding Experience

Believe it or not, the wedding vendors you hire can make or break your wedding day experience. There are so many benefits to hiring professional vendors, and there are endless options available. From DJs and bands to caterers and videographers, almost anything related to your big day can be hired out.

The beauty of weddings is that every couple has a unique vision for what they want their celebration to look like. When it comes to hiring professionals, everyone will value vendors differently. For some couples, it’s a priority to work with a graphic designer for their stationery and signage, while other couples want to work with certain bakers to make their dream cake.

In this post, we’d like to share five vendors that we always recommend to our newly engaged couples.

#1 – Photographer

The value of a professional wedding photographer cannot be overstated. You already know this, but there is nothing better than being able to relive your special day again and again through your photos. You’ve spent so much time and energy creating your dream day, and it should be well-documented. (Shout-out to Tacy Liz Photography who captured these incredible wedding day moments)

Finding the right photographer for you may take some effort, so it’s important to get started as soon as possible. Look for a local photographer (or one willing to travel) whose photos fit your style. Look through their website and galleries to get an idea of what they offer. You can read more about the booking process here.

#2 – Venue

Some vendors, like venues, are non-negotiables. Your wedding has to take place somewhere! The part that varies based on the couple is what kind of venue you book. After you consider factors like weather, time of year, number of guests, and budget, you can think about the style of venue you prefer. It’s also a good idea to recognize if they have any required vendors- like catering, bar, etc. that might directly affect the cost of your wedding day.

Most couples already have a vision for the vibe they want their wedding to encapsulate, and your venue is the first thing that communicates that feeling. It’s always a good idea to tour venues in person to get an accurate idea of what things look like and what services they offer. A good tip to remember is to ask as many questions as possible.

#3 – Hair and makeup professionals

One key to making your wedding day a success is looking and feeling your best. A great way to do that is by hiring a professional to come in and work their magic on your hair and makeup. Booking an HMUA (Hair and Makeup Artist) can take the stress of making sure your hair is done perfectly off your plate. As a bonus, being pampered is such a fun way to start your big day. Most HMUAs offer trial runs before the day of your wedding so you can get an idea of how things will go. We chat all about this topic here!

#4 – Florist

Flowers are a very traditional part of weddings, and there are so many different ways to use floral arrangements in your decorations. Working with a florist is the best way to make sure you get the exact flowers you’ve been dreaming of. Local florists will know what kinds of flowers and greenery are available during certain times of the year, and they will be able to make your investment stretch. Utah has an increasing number of local farmers as well- so during peak wedding season we’re seeing some STUNNING local florals being used in bouquets, centerpieces, and installations.

#5 – Wedding planner

Working with a wedding planner will transform your wedding day more than almost any other vendor. A good planner will gather all the information you provide about what you’d like your day to look like and then take the reins in creating your dream wedding.

For every couple we work with, it’s our number one goal to bring your wedding vision to life while making your life easier during the process. Being engaged is fun, and wedding planning can be the same way! Our packages are designed to fit each couple's needs from the day you get engaged to the minute you say ‘I do’ and beyond.

Selecting a few good wedding vendors can take your celebration from a stressful event to a beautiful day you’ll never forget. We hope these tips are helpful!
