How to Create the Best Wedding Experience for Your Guests

Make Your Wedding Festive and Memorable for Everyone

We always say that your wedding day is a day for YOU. And we stand by that! But there are also lots of other purposes for a wedding, like celebrating with family and friends. One big mistake we see through the planning process is when couples forget to be considerate of their guest's experience.

We don’t want you to fall into the same pattern! In this blog post, we will outline our best tips for creating the best possible experience for your guests during your wedding celebrations. There are a few simple things you can do to make the day more fun, festive, and memorable for you and your guests.

Let’s get started!

Make transportation to your venue easy.

One of the easiest ways to make your guests feel comfortable is to remove as much of the work from their plate as you can. That includes transportation to venues that may require walking long distances or traveling uphill. If this sounds similar to your situation, consider hiring a shuttle or gold cart transportation service for your guests.

Select a venue that is easy to navigate.

Once you’ve made it easy to get to your location, it needs to be equally as easy to move from event to event within your venue. If you’re planning for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to all be in different locations, make sure you have clear signage so guests know where to go (and when!). It’s also important that indoor venues are well-lit and spacious enough that people can move around as they need to.

Keep your guests comfortable.

Depending on the season, you will need to make accommodations for your guests in order to stay warm or cool. In the winter, encourage people to dress in layers and stay indoors as much as possible. For summer weddings, choose a location that has enough shade. Regardless of the weather, be sure to provide water! We chat all about warm-weather do’s and don’ts in this blog post!

Don’t forget the music!

Music sets the tone for your entire event, so be intentional about the selection you choose. In our opinion, working with a DJ is an investment that will be well worth the space in your budget. Live bands are also an incredible way to bring a fun and festive atmosphere to your big day.

Feed your guests well.

Your menu plays a huge part in determining how enjoyable your wedding is for you and your guests. Whether you’re planning a seated dinner or offering a spread of appetizers, don’t cut corners on food. Good catering is essential! As you’re planning your menu, remember to consider guests with special diets and clearly label food items that have common allergens.

Encourage Involvement.

Dancing is one of the easiest ways your guests can get involved in the wedding celebrations, but not every couple wants a huge dance party. There are dozens of other ways your guests can participate in the festivities, like setting up lawn games, renting a photo booth, or creating an interactive sign-in book.

Your wedding is a fantastic time to show your appreciation for the friends and family who have loved and supported you. Ultimately, as long as you, the bride or groom, are having a good experience, your guests are likely to feel the same.
