Meg + Shawn — Christmas Tree Farm

The inspiration for this styled shoot came from a shared love of Christmas, snow, and wintertime in general. We braved the Salt Lake County winter to capture these gorgeous photos. While we all froze a little to set up this stunning elopement-style space for Meg and Shawn, it was well worth it.

The bright, rosy colors incorporated into the Brontes' Floral bouquet and unique arch pieces were a true statement against the crisp, snowy backdrop we were blessed with. As we trudged through literal feet of snow, I was reminded of my days growing up in the upper Midwest, when we would live for snow days. And now that I’m married, I’d love to be able to open the windows, see the snow, crawl back in bed with my husband, and take a snow day of our own.

Willow Creek Tree Farm is a locally owned Christmas tree farm in Draper, UT. We had been searching for the perfect location for our Christmas-styled photoshoot for days. Originally, we were hoping to explore Big Cottonwood Canyon, but due to weather conditions, we decided to keep our search closer to home. As soon as we saw Willow Creek Tree Farm, we knew it was exactly what we had been looking for. Whether it is a styled shoot or an actual wedding day, you never know when you’ll be hit with a surprise that requires some problem-solving, imagination, and adventure.

Whether we are exploring a new location or designing something unique to capture someone’s artistic vision, I am always down for a new adventure! While getting married outside in the snow isn’t always possible, there are so many ways to incorporate the season into your wedding day. As you explore and develop your wedding design, you will find that you can have the best of both worlds when it comes to having a winter wedding and staying comfortably warm. Don’t get me wrong, though. If you are envisioning a stunning elopement in the snowy hills, we will make it happen!
